This is a really fruit driven coffee from Brazil. It is Balanced, a really sweet cup with tonnes of fruit, especially blackberry and finishes with lovely caramel notes. This is well worth a try.
Valdir, the farmer and owner, has improved the quality of his coffee while protecting the water and wildlife, planting indigenous trees and avoiding use of herbicides to ensure a sustainable future. He was one of the first producers to join the Bob-o-link sustainability project, linking people with farmers who grow quality coffee in harmony with nature. This project is managed by Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza, ‘Environmental Fortress Farm’ or FAF for short. 949 notes the specific plot where this coffee comes from.
Valdir Ferreira’s grandparents moved to the town of Caconde 35 years ago to grow
coffee. Young Valdir would come from São Paulo to spend his holidays on the farm,
and later moved to the region to take over the property. The farm was named Sitio
Joaninha,‘Ladybird Place’, by Valdir’s mother for her love of the ladybirds that visit the
coffee farm in abundance.
