Our signature espresso coffee blend, served in high-end cafés across the country (and now, at your table). It’s a bold one – with hints of berries and citrus. Dark-roasted for a rich caramel finish. A complex blend of coffees from smallholder farmers including San Jeronimo Costa Rica, Gajah Mountain Sumatra, Cocagi Gashonga Rwanda and Liberación Guatemala.
Revelation is our Union Direct Trade espresso created from coffee grown in the main producing regions; Indonesia, East Africa and Latin America. Revelation is our heritage and defines Union. It's our most admired blend and we built our reputation on this coffee. It has complex floral aromatics, ripe red fruit notes of cherry and a dark caramel treacle-like body to leave a sweet enduring finish. Revelation is created from prized Specialty grade Arabica beans scoring SCAA Q Grade 85 or above. These are mostly fully-washed coffees selected around the 3 major producing regions: Liberación and San Jeronimo from Latin America that gives the delicate honeyed syrup flavours. Gashonga Rwanda provides the floral aromatics and enough snap to give a gentle sparkle to the cup. Gajah Mountain from Aceh, a semi washed coffee that imparts sweet lustrous mouth feel and weight to balance against the Latina and African coffees. For more information about the farms where the coffees in this blend are produced see Gajah Aceh, Cocagi gashonga, Liberación and San jeronimo. We select these coffees to provide clarity, matched with intense, complex flavours and sweetness. We continually taste this blend and each of its components as espresso and on the cupping table and to maintain the consistent flavour profile through the year we adjust our recipe selecting our fresh new season arrivals: In Burundi we source from Cooperatives of COCOCA; In Costa Rica we source from; San Jeronimo Micromill in Piedre de las Rivas, Cedral Los Jilgueros, Zelmari Cachi Orosi, APROCETU Micromill, MICEPA and Montanas De Dota in Tarrazu. In Guatemala we source from Esquipuas Cooperative, Huehuetenango and Finca Candelaria; from Rwanda we work with Cooperatives Abahuzamugambi ba Kawa (Maraba), Karaba and Humure and Cocagi.
