An impressive, harmonious and delicious combination of ripe fruits with caramel with a touch of hibiscus.
Emporium farm is a special combination of coffee trees amongst hundreds of citrus trees. During flowering, scent and colour is intoxicating. Graciano Cruz, an agronomist and scientist manages the farm with great value attributed to the environmental impact. Coffee is shade-grown under indigenous trees which provide a nesting place for birds and animals. This microlot produced from the 14 hectare Emporium estate was processed by natural dry method.
Originally the land was planted as three separate farms, with heterogeneous varietals of coffee trees first cultivated in the 70’s. The volcanic soils, rich in minerals and organic material, provide perfect conditions to grow outstanding coffee. It’s under these growing conditions and in conjunction with the diversity of cultivar that gives the unique taste profile to the Emporium microlot; matched with the lush citrus and tropical fruit trees, an intense mix of scent and colour is created. The coffee is grown under full shade trees of Inga, Mandarin and Lemon that provide a rich environment for birds and mammals. Natural run-off water percolating from the volcanic rock collects into the Emporio creek, which gives its name to the farm.
