A sweet and light-bodied fruity coffee with notes of stone fruit, milk chocolate and a hint of lemon zest. Brewing it at lower temperature brings some floral notes on the finish. Enjoy with milk for a sweet and creamy texture, stone fruit flavours, with vanillla and brown sugar mid-palate and some subtle honeydew melon and lemon posset notes on the finish.
This coffee is grown by Celso and Gertrudes on their farm, Boa Vista - meaning beautiful view. When asked 'What is the secret to your success is?' Gertrudes answers, ‘’Cariño y Amor’’ meaning 'affection and love'. She explains that specialty coffee is about attention to detail, a lot of time and care. Quality coffee is in the genes, Celso's great-grandparents lived down the hill from Boa Vista and Gertrudes brothers also farm coffee in the area. Celso and Getrudes have been working with FAF since 2008.
Celso and Gertrudes farm is in the mountainous region of Caconde, in the state of Sao Paulo. They farm eight hectares of Catuai, Mundo Novo and Bourbon cultivars. Until 2006 the farm produced conventional coffee. The transformation to specialty started when they decided to undertake post-harvest processing at the farm, rather than sell their unprocessed coffee cherries to the local wet mill facility.
